     Henrietta Hans was born in November 1853 at Albany, Albany County, New York.1 She was the daughter of Henry Hans and Catherine Scheu.1 Henrietta Hans was baptized on 1 January 1854 at German Evangelical Protestant Church, Albany, Albany County, New York, the witnesses were, Henrietta Thiel and Lewis Hans.1

     On 27 June 1860, Henrietta Hans was listed as a household member living with Henry Hans in the 1860 census in Albany, Albany County, New York. The Hans surname is misspelled as Hanns..2

     Henrietta Hans was educated between 1869 and 1871 at Albany State Normal School, Albany, Albany County, New York.3,4 She graduated on 29 June 1871 from Albany State Normal School, Albany, Albany County, New York.5,4 She was a teacher between 1871 and 1874 at Public School No. 15, Albany, Albany County, New York.6 As of 6 October 1874,her married name was Henrietta Dorr.

     Henrietta Hans married Henry Dorr, her first cousin, son of Georg Dörr and Wilhelmina Hans, on 6 October 1874 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 160 Central Avenue, Albany, Albany County, New York.3,7 Henrietta Hans was enumerated in the census of Henry Dorr on 9 June 1880 at 610 Broadway, Albany, Albany County, New York.8 Henrietta Hans lived with Henry Dorr between 1881 and 1884 at 52 Columbia Street, Albany, Albany County, New York.9,10,11,12 Henrietta Hans lived with Henry Dorr between 1887 and 1889 at 19 Steuben Street, Albany, Albany County, New York.13,14,15 Henrietta Hans along with her younger daughter, Helen Dorr, left for a month long visit with her elder daughter, Mrs. William Loeb Jr. at Oyster Bay.16 She attended the marriage of John Jacob Hans and Catherine Margaret Albert on 6 July 1904 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Albany, Albany County, New York.17 Henrietta Hans was widowed on 3 February 1909.18 Henrietta Hans is the head of household on the census of 20 April 1910 at 64 N. Hans.19

     Henrietta Hans died on 8 February 1916 at 424 Western Avenue, Albany, Albany County, New York, at age 62.20 She was buried on 11 February 1916 at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Albany County, New York.20
