     Henry Dorr was born on 11 February 1845 at Marienthal, Rheinland-Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany.1,2 He was the son of Georg Dörr and Wilhelmina Hans. Henry Dorr emigrated circa 1860 from Marienthal, Rheinland-Pfalz, Bavaria, Germany. He began military service on 26 July 1862 at New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, Enlisted in Co. G of the 1st Regiment of Louisiana Infantry.3 He States that he lost hearing in right ear during the Battle of Port Hudson. Also, started to suffer hearing lose in the left ear while in hospital for typho malarial fever. in May 1863 at Port Hudson, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.3 He ended military service on 12 July 1865 at New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.3

     Henry Dorr was boarding with at the household of his future father-in-law, Henry Hans in 1871 at 10 Rose Street, Albany, Albany County, New York.4 He lived in 1872 at 536 Broadway, Albany, Albany County, New York.5 He was Proprietor of The Cosmopolitan Saloon between 1872 and 1890 at 545-547 Broadway, Albany, Albany County, New York.6,7

     Henry Dorr married Henrietta Hans, his first cousin, daughter of Henry Hans and Catherine Scheu, on 6 October 1874 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 160 Central Avenue, Albany, Albany County, New York.8,3 Henry Dorr is the head of household on the census of 9 June 1880 at 610 Broadway, Albany, Albany County, New York. Enumerated with Henry were Henrietta Hans and Katharine Wilhelmine Dorr.9 Henry Dorr lived between 1881 and 1884 at 52 Columbia Street, Albany, Albany County, New York.10,11,12,13 He lived between 1887 and 1889 at 19 Steuben Street, Albany, Albany County, New York.14,15,16 He lived between 1890 and 1900 at 57 Columbia Street, Albany, Albany County, New York.17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26 Henry Dorr is the head of household on the census of 2 June 1900 at 57 Columbia Street, Albany, Albany County, New York, ED 22, Ward 6, Sheet 2A, Line 44, Dwelling 32, Family 39.26,27 He lived between 1901 and 1909 at 424 Western Avenue, Albany, Albany County, New York.28 He witnessed the burial of Louisa Meyer on 31 January 1903 at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Albany County, New York;

First Unitarian Society officiated at the funeral services of Mrs. William Loeb, sr., held yesterday afternoon at the family residence, 249 State street. The interment was in the family plot at the Rural cemetery. The bearers were B. P. Simmons, A. Love, Henry Dorr and Charles A. Burns.29

     Henry Dorr died of Apoplexy on 3 February 1909 at 424 Western Avenue, Albany, Albany County, New York, at age 63.28,1,3 He was buried on 6 February 1909 at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Albany County, New York. Undertaker was Marshall Tebbutt.1,2,3
